A clinical case of Equine Infectious Anaemia (Swamp Fever) has occurred in West Devon just south of Black Torrington. The Romanian Cob had been purchased some time ago within the UK after arriving from Europe. He was euthanased on Saturday 11th September. The other horses on the premises have been blood sampled by Defra and the initial results from the Central Veterinary Laboratory in Weybridge are negative.
